Bonnie Porter
Founder and Developer
Bonnie is the founder and developer behind Coal’s Goals, an app inspired by her love for dogs and the meaningful bond they share with their people. With a B.S. in Management Information Systems, a M.T. in Information Technology, and a lifelong passion for software development that began in high school, Bonnie brings both technical expertise and heartfelt purpose to building an experience that is both useful and meaningful for pet families.
Coal’s Goals was inspired by Bonnie’s beloved Labrador, Coal, whose memory continues to shape the heart of the brand. What began as a deeply personal idea has grown into a thoughtful and playful experience designed to encourage connection, fun, and quality time with our furry family members.
Today, Bonnie and Junior are bringing that vision to life by creating a joyful space where dog lovers can track activities, celebrate milestones, build memories, and make every moment with their pups even more special. With Remy — Bonnie’s fur baby and Coal’s nephew — serving as the brand’s cheerful Chief Executive Pup, Bonnie is building more than an app — she’s building a brand that celebrates dogs, their people, and the bond they share with their best friends.
Junior Meador
Co-Founder
Junior Meador is a Computer Science graduate and co-founder of Coals Goals. He met Bonnie while working as a bartender at The Deck in The Landings during college, where Bonnie first shared her idea for an app designed to strengthen the connection between pets and their humans.
Recognizing the uniqueness of Bonnie’s concept and the absence of similar solutions in the market, Junior became an early collaborator in shaping the app’s direction. Over the past several years, he has worked closely with Bonnie as a strategic thought partner — contributing to feature ideation, product structure discussions, security considerations, object-oriented design concepts, and database decision-making.
While Bonnie leads coding and implementation, Junior supports the vision through collaboration, feedback, and shared decision-making. With a shared passion for fitness and animals, the two continue to build Coals Goals together with intention, trust, and long-term commitment.
Remy
Chief Executive Pup
Remy — affectionately known as “Chocolate Thunder” — is the heartbeat of today’s Coal’s Goals. As our Chief Executive Pup, Remy represents everything the app stands for: playfulness, curiosity, connection, and unconditional love.
As Bonnie’s baby, Remy brings joy, energy, and tail-wagging enthusiasm to the brand every day. Whether he’s inspiring new ideas, reminding everyone to have more fun, or simply leading by adorable example, Remy plays an important role in keeping the pack on track.
Maleficent
Chief Security Pup
Maleficent is Junior’s Doberman and proudly serves as Chief Security Pup. Loyal, intelligent, and always alert, Maleficent takes her role seriously — reminding us that trust, protection, and care are essential parts of any strong pack.
